Dark thin red or brown lines resembling splinters beneath the nail formed from dried blood.
Mechanism
Capillaries rupture due to damage.
Causes
- Bacterial Endocarditis: Septic micro-emboli originating from infected heart valves
- Diabetes: A complication is peripheral vascular disease
- Lupus
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
